These Grade 2 sleeping bags have had it a bit rough and show more than ideal wear and tear - The fabric may be thinned, pilled or small holes may be present (see last image for an example). Because these aren't as good quality as we'd prefer surplus items, we wouldn't recommend pushing these to the temperature extremes they were designed for when brand new.
US soldiers use this as the base sleeping bag in the Modular Sleep System. Alone, this is also a fantastic lightweight sleeping bag for warmer climates. This patrol bag combines with the cold weather and bivy bag, making up a waterproof, extreme weather sleeping system.
Due to its lightweight design, hikers and trampers will find them more pleasant to take outdoors, over heavier sleeping bags. Campers in warmer climates will get their money's worth out of this military grade bag.
